In the first quarter, the per capita disposable income of residents in Guangdong reached 13,360 RMB, a nominal increase of 5.7% over the previous year.
That was according to the statistics released by Guangdong Statistical Agency under the National Bureau of Statistics on April 19th.
Underpinned by a stable income growth, the per capita consumption expenditure witnessed a year-on-year increase of 4.6% in nominal terms.
During the same period, the consumer price index (CPI) and the producer price index (PPI) grew by 1.7% and 4.7% respectively over those of the previous year.
In terms of urban and rural areas, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 16,230 RMB, up by 4.9%, while that of rural residents was 6,639 RMB, up by 6.6%.
The per capita wage income of residents was 9,069 RMB, an increase of 5.5%, accounting for 67.9% of disposable income. That’s 11.1% higher than the nation’s total, indicating the vitality of private economy and market in Guangdong.
Compared with last year, six among the eight consumption categories saw an increase. For instance, the transportation and telecommunication rose by 15.0%, an increase of 6.9 percentage points year on year.
