Nobel Laureate marvels at Nansha’s complete tech commercialization chain

On November 17th, the Greater Bay Area Science Forum 2024 officially kicked off in Guangzhou's Nansha District. Over a hundred academicians and experts from various fields across the globe participated in the event.

Barry J. Marshall, 2005 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, expressed his admiration for the cutting-edge laboratories and the enthusiasm of the young scientists working there in Nansha, along with the excellent management in place.

"The laboratories here and the whole institutions for doing research are world-class," he said. "The labs are spacious and well-equipped, with rigorous safety procedures in place. They have all the necessary components for conducting research."

Marshall emphasized that research here is a collaborative effort that involves business experts, regulatory specialists, and a focus on globalization.

He explained that once a discovery is made, scientists need business experts to help raise money and regulatory experts to get government approvals, and even think globally.

"So all those things are already in place now in Nansha. I think lots of people would like to come here or move their business here or collaborate with the scientists in the biotech incubators here."
