Guangdong's GDP expanded 6.5% to 5 trillion yuan in H1 of 2019

Guangdong's GDP went up 6.5 percent year on year in the first half of 2019 to about 5 trillion yuan time, according to the Statistics Bureau of Guangdong. It is 0.2 percent higher than the national average.

Guangdong's economy has seen a steady development in the first half of the year, said Yang Xinhong, director of the Statistics Bureau of Guangdong.

The added value of above-scale industrial enterprises grew 4.8 percent year-on-year, and the added value of advanced manufacturing increased by 5.8%, accounting for 56.5% of the above-scale industries.

According to the government work report delivered earlier this year, Guangdong aims to keep the GDP growth rate of about 6%-6.5% to over 10 trillion yuan in 2019.
