On July 24, Airbus Helicopters, the world's leading helicopter manufacturer, officially signed a contract to establish its China headquarters in the Hengqin International Financial Center (IFC).
Airbus Helicopters is the helicopter manufacturing division of Airbus. It is the largest in the industry in terms of revenues and turbine helicopter deliveries. According to statistics, the company received 410 helicopter orders in 2023 and delivered 346 helicopters globally, accounting for a market share of 54% in the global civilian and public service helicopter market.
Fu Yongge, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, indicated that Airbus Helicopters' decision to establish its China headquarters in the zone will drive the development of the helicopter industry and related upstream industries, such as low-altitude economy.

Colin James, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters China, said that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the world's largest economic zones, with immense potential in the general aviation industry, particularly in helicopters. "Therefore, as part of our strategic cooperation, we are thrilled to relocate our Chinese headquarters to the Hengqin International Financial Center."
In recent years, Hengqin has actively attracted leading enterprises to settle in the zone, strengthening international cooperation and resource integration and promoting the accumulation of high-quality enterprises and innovative resources. The zone has already attracted world-class enterprises from various industries, including Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and high-end service providers.
