After visiting the Hengqin Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, an area located in Zhuhai, Guangdong, Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita, Brazilian Ambassador to China, shared insights on relations between Brazil and Guangdong.
According to him, Brazil and Guangdong have developed close and fruitful relations, and with the building of the Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone, it will inject new impetus into cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the People’s Republic of China’s lawful seat in the United Nations (UN). It has also been almost 50 years since China and Brazil established diplomatic ties in 1974.
“Over this period, we have developed a very productive relationship, because it was always based on mutual respect, on respect for independence, on recognition of differences,” said Estivallet. “We have benefited from a constructive dialogue.”
Estivallet added that over the past 50 years, China has been fully committed to UN affairs and constantly advancing UN causes, benefiting the development of international community on various levels.
China has always followed the principle of “extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits”, thus setting a good example for the world in terms of peace-building and sustainable development, said Estivallet.
