Recently, a new round of COVID-19 pandemic has affected several cities in Guangdong, while many Hong Kong youths including Chan Tung (Joanna), a postgraduate student in Guangzhou's Jinan University, have also participated in the fight against the pandemic.
Joanna, left from the third, took a group photo with medical workers after finishing the volunteer work.
As the Secretary General of Hong Kong Students' Association of Canton, Joanna immediately worked as a volunteer and provided her support in the Sir Run Run Shaw Gymnasium (邵逸夫体育馆), one of the key nucleic acid test sites in Tianhe District, Guangzhou.
On June 1, Joanna helped students and nearby residents to take nucleic acid testing in an orderly manner. She offered guidance patiently for people who were in trouble with their registration of testing.
"I felt very honored for being a volunteer to help the epidemic prevention task," said Joanna. People in Guangdong and Hong Kong have always thought about each other during the pandemic. Facing the latest round of COVID-19 resurgence in Guangzhou, she hopes to take actions to help others and make contributions in this special period.
Although Joanna just did a favor for maintaining order of nucleic acid testing, she was very happy to that. And what impressed her most was the dedication of the medical staff.
