1 Yuan annual rent helps Hong Kong youths start business in GBA

Yes, Shawn started SiliCool Innovation Technologies Company in Zhuhai’s Technology Transform Base for Hong Kong and Macao with his partner at the end of 2018. Thanks to a preferential policy in the Base, he could rent a 200 Kms office for 1 Yuan annual rent for 3 consecutive years.

Shawn Gao, a Hong Kong entrepreneur, established SiliCool Innovation Technologies Company in Zhuhai, a southern city in China near Macao. Thanks to a preferential policy, he could rent a 200 Km2 office for 1 Yuan annually for 3 years.

“Given the fact that GBA has become a national initiative and Zhuhai is very close to Hong Kong, it’s even more convenient to come here through the Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge,” said Shawn.

It is reported that, from April 2019 to the end of September 2020, 29 companies in the Base have benefited from the ‘1 Yuan Annual Rent’ preferential policy. The subsidy totals 3.04 million RMB.

With steady progress in promoting the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area, more and more young people from Hongkong and Macao have started their own businesses in the mainland. Simultaneously, GBA cities have carried out many preferential policies, aiming to attract them to start the business.
