In February 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chunlong Island Resort was held in Longxue Sub-district of Nansha District in Guangzhou, marking a significant milestone in the development of the area's fishing and tourism integration.

The project will create synergy with the Port Fresh Market, diversify the cultural and tourism landscape, enrich the "half-hour living circle" between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhongshan, and upgrade the cultural tourism industry to stimulate high-quality economic growth.

Longxue Island, known as "Longxuezhou" in ancient times, is rich in historical significance. Its name originates from the legend of the Dragon King of the South China Sea. The history of the area can be dated back to the records of "mirages" in the Song dynasty. Cultural landmarks such as the Sansheng Palace, Cheung Po Tsai Cave, and Dragon Palace Pavilion witness the history of Longxue Island. The Sansheng Gong Festival, celebrated for hundreds of years, attracts many participants from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. It has become a significant symbol of local culture and has been recognized as a representative project of intangible cultural heritage by Nansha.

Leveraging its coastal advantages, Longxue has implemented a series of innovative models to create distinctive coastal tourism brands. Annual events include the "Durian Carnival" in spring, the "Multinational Music Festival" and "Seafood Beer BBQ Festival" in summer, the "Blue Crab Harvest Festival" in autumn, and the "Cherry Festival" in winter. These seasonal activities provide year-round cultural tourism consumption hotspots.

In addition, Longxue has enriched the tourism experience and integrated the port's strengths. In 2023, the Port Fresh Market was founded. It successfully utilizes the unique model of "immediate docking, immediate container opening, immediate selling." Global fresh fruits like cherries, durians, and coconuts are offered regularly.

Longxue continues to tap into its culture, tourism, and business resources to promote industrial development. With key projects in place, the area has integrated various tourism-related services, including dining, accommodation, travel, and entertainment, to stimulate broader economic growth. Notable projects include the construction of the Long Gong Xian Mountain Eco Trail, connecting cultural landmarks such as Sansheng Palace, Dragon Palace Pavilion, and Cheung Po Tsai Cave with the local wetlands.
