GDP of Huizhou expected to grow by about 6% in 2025

Huizhou will promote sustained and stable economic growth this year, with GDP expected to grow by about 6%, and accelerate new growth for high-quality development in Guangdong province, according to a Huizhou Municipal Government Work Report.

In 2024, the GDP of Huizhou reached 613.64 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.2%, ranking third in Guangdong province. In recent years, the GDP of Huizhou has successively crossed the thresholds of 500 billion yuan and 600 billion yuan, and the two pillar industries are accelerating toward "trillion-yuan-level industrial clusters".

Huizhou has more than 900,000 business entities. There are 151 industrial enterprises with an output value of over 1 billion yuan, 15 with an output value of over 10 billion yuan, and 1 with an output value of over 100 billion yuan. There are 3,650 high-tech enterprises.

Huizhou has huge economic potential and enjoys major strategic benefits such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the Shenzhen Metropolitan Circle.

This year, Huizhou will focus on ten areas of work, including the in-depth implementation of integration with Shenzhen and other areas in the GBA, strengthening the function of an important node city in the GBA, vigorously promoting "hard connectivity" of infrastructure, "soft connectivity" of rules and mechanisms, "large linkage" of industry and science and technology, and "heart connectivity" of exchanges and integration, to jointly build a world-class bay area and develop the best bay area in the world.

In 2025, Huizhou will adhere to the real economy as the foundation and manufacturing as the home, build a global petrochemical industry highland, establish a first-class digital industry base in China, promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, cultivate and develop emerging industries and future industries, accelerate the development of producer services, enhance the ability to lead scientific and technological innovation, and build a more internationally competitive modern industrial system.Huizhou will carry out several projects for people's livelihood. Among these, it will increase the supply of high-quality public school places, build or rebuild (expand) 36 schools, and add 11,040 compulsory education places and 6,400 general high school places this year.
