Dongguan is home to over 220,000 industrial enterprises, with more than 14,000 classified as large-scale manufacturing companies, maintaining its position as the leading city in this regard nationwide. As the city grapples with the challenges of upgrading and transforming its vast manufacturing sector, finding effective solutions has become a pressing issue.

Recently, the Global Cross-Border Technology Trade (Greater Bay Area) Center, located in Dongguan's Binhaiwan Bay Area, conducted site visits to numerous local manufacturing firms and associations. Leveraging its expertise in technology transactions, the center successfully connected technical needs with market resources, enabling several companies to achieve technology-driven advancements and growth.

Many small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in Dongguan face issues like high labor costs and production efficiency, particularly in the production processes of non-standard mechanical components, which are heavily reliant on manual labor, hindering their development.

To address this challenge, Guangdong Shitong Online Software Co., Ltd., based in the Dongguan Binhaiwan International Open Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community, developed a new generation of information management systems. However, a standalone ERP system could not meet the collaborative needs across factories and enterprises. With the assistance of the Global Cross-Border Technology Trade (Greater Bay Area) Center, Shitong Online formed a partnership with Beijing Xingju Zhixie Technology Co., Ltd. to create a smart industrial app tailored for small and medium-sized manufacturers.

This app aims to streamline the cumbersome and time-consuming process of converting 3D models into engineering drawings using AI technology, potentially boosting efficiency by 20 times and reducing costs by 70%, thus achieving an intelligent workflow from design to procurement.

Additionally, the protection of trade secrets, a vital component of intellectual property assets, is crucial for manufacturing companies in Dongguan and the Greater Bay Area. To effectively tackle this challenge, the Greater Bay Area Center designed a three-tier trade secret protection system for Dongguan Rongqi Parking Equipment Co., Ltd. This includes comprehensive R&D protection, secure point data upload, and training for employees on internal management practices related to trade secret protection.

Moreover, the center provides diversified financing channels for early-stage tech companies. For instance, Shanghai Jiening New Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. faced significant funding requirements and commercial risks while developing hydrogen fuel heavy trucks. After establishing its operations in Dongguan, the Greater Bay Area Center innovatively introduced technology financing methods such as intellectual property mortgage loans and the incorporation of intangible assets to bolster Jiening Technology's ongoing R&D and product commercialization.

With technological support from the Greater Bay Area Center, Jiening Technology plans to produce 3,000 high-power fuel cell systems and 10,000 interchangeable hydrogen storage systems within the next two years, aiming for an annual production capacity of 50,000 units by 2030.
