Starting from January 24 to February 7, ferry services between Pazhou and  China Ferry Terminal (Hong Kong) resume, with three shifts per day (two arrivals and one departure).

Ferry services between Pazhou and China Ferry Terminal (Hong Kong) have resumed.

The resumption of ferry services to Hong Kong's downtown area has be an exciting news for many travelers. The Pazhou Ferry Terminal also offers a "1 RMB" ticket promotion activity for travelers.

"I was lucky to get three '1-RMB' tickets! I work nearby, and it was my first time taking a ferry from the Pazhou Ferry Terminal. My family and I plan to spend the Spring Festival holidays in the UAE," said Mr. Zeng, a resident of Foshan, who was among the first passengers on the resumed route.

During the Spring Festival travel rush, Guangzhou Pazhou Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Transportation Co., Ltd. rented the "Mingzhuhu" ferry and operated three shifts of passenger ferries, increasing the total number of ferry shifts from the usual six (three arrivals and three departures, with a total of 1,560 passenger seats) to 12 (seven arrivals and five departures, including two port-of-call sailings, with a total of 2,600 passenger seats).

Notably, port-of-call sailings refer to ferries that depart from the China Ferry Terminal (Hong Kong) and continue to carry passengers at the SkyPier Terminal of the Hong Kong International Airport, before returning to Pazhou.

The capacity adaptation resulted in six ferry routes operating daily and an increase of 1,040 passenger seats. Throughout the entire Spring Festival travel rush, the total number of sailings will increase by 90, and the total number of passenger seats will increase by approximately 15,600.

Another lucky traveler, Ms. Su, echoed Mr. Zeng's excitement, having also snatched '1-RMB' tickets for her family. "I saw the promotion and thought it would be a good start for the New Year, so we plan to spend a few days in Hong Kong," she said.

"I live nearby and I often travel from Pazhou Ferry Terminal. It is very convenient to go to Hong Kong from here." Ms. Su appreciated the newly installed self-service machine for entry endorsement at the terminal, which was of great help when her sister's baby needed a travel permit at the last minute. Moreover, Pazhou Ferry Terminal has thoughtfully set up a currency exchange machine, to further assist travelers' needs.

As of January 2025, Pazhou Ferry Terminal has operated over 6,000 sailings, transporting more than 230,000 passengers. Since its opening, the number of airlines providing Upstream Check-in (UCI) at the terminal has increased from 10 to 23, making it the fastest-growing terminal in terms of UCI services in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further connecting with Hong Kong International Airport's extensive international flight network.

With the opening of Guangzhou Metro Line 11 at the end of 2024, the arrival of the Spring Festival holidays, and the ongoing surge in "China Travel," Pazhou Ferry Terminal has seen a significant increase in passenger traffic compared to usual.

In addition, with the opening of the intercity railway station nearby this year, Pazhou Station will become an interchange station for Guangzhou Metro and the Greater Bay Area Intercity Railway. Passengers can transfer between Metro Line 11, the Guangzhou-Foshan Intercity Railway, and the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway Pazhou Branch.

According to the Zhoutouzui Immigration Inspection Station at Pazhou Ferry Terminal, the number of inbound and outbound passengers will exceed 5,000 from January 27 to February 5.
