Eager to catch a glimpse of aircraft up close? Head over to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport! China's first open-air observation deck at Baiyun Airport's T3 terminal has been completed.
The observation deck, situated on the 8th floor of the T3 terminal, spans about 200 square meters and boasts state-of-the-art fittings. Perched at the terminal's highest point, visitors to the deck will enjoy unobstructed views of Baiyun Airport's T1 and T2 terminals. Moreover, they can capture stunning footage of planes taking off and landing from a short distance away.
Whether considered from its height or proximity, this deck stands out as Baiyun Airport's prime viewing spot. The visitors can easily recognize the entire aircraft, including text on its fuselage.
The deck is part of Baiyun Airport's T3 terminal. Currently, the main structure of the T3 terminal has been topped out, with curtain wall and roof works nearing completion. Internal fitting-out is also underway, with the terminal expected to be finished and handed over for operation later this year.
Baiyun Airport's Phase III expansion project aims to bolster the development of a world-class airport cluster within the Greater Bay Area and propel the growth of world-class city clusters in the region. Designed to accommodate an annual passenger throughput of 120 million, a cargo throughput of 3.8 million tonnes, and 775,000 aircraft movements, the project encompasses various facilities under its planning and construction design. At present, the overall project is progressing smoothly.
