On January 10, the People's Government of Nansha District, Guangzhou signed a cooperation agreement with Baring International Holding Company AS. This marks a significant milestone in advancing the development of the Nansha pilot zone for agricultural opening-up and cooperation.
Mai Jieping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nansha District Committee, emphasized the far-reaching significance of this collaboration. For Baring International Holding Company AS, China's consumer market offers extensive opportunities and boundless prospects. Meanwhile, the company's advanced aquaculture technologies and equipment will inject powerful momentum into the modernization of Nansha's fisheries industry.
Following the signing ceremony, both sides held a special meeting to discuss the specifics of the project collaboration. Several marine engineering and aquaculture technology companies participated in the discussions. On January 11, the delegation from Baring International Holding Company AS conducted an on-site inspection of the designated project land in Nansha, gaining a detailed understanding of the current state of modern agriculture in the district.
In recent years, Nansha has been actively developing modern marine ranches, aiming to establish a "blue granary." In the aquatic seed industry, Nansha has achieved significant breakthroughs in the cultivation of species such as crabs, eels, and shrimps. Notably, Nansha's mud crab industry generates an annual output value of 1.5 billion RMB, and its eels are exported to Japan and the Republic of Korea. In marine engineering equipment manufacturing, Nansha has delivered three deep-sea aquaculture engineering vessels and is home to enterprises specializing in wind power equipment and deep-water aquaculture cages, providing it with a strong competitive edge.
Norway is renowned for its exceptional natural conditions and marine resources, and Baring International Holding Company AS brings advanced expertise in sectors such as oil and gas, offshore wind power, and fish farming. This collaboration between Nansha and Baring sets a new benchmark for international cooperation in the fisheries sector.
