Eleven Bao’an companies listed as national green manufacturers

A total of 11 industrial firms in Bao'an District have been recognized in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's recent list of national green manufacturers.

Specifically, six firms based in Bao'an District, such as Shenzhen Sunway Communication, a one-stop solution provider for RF connectivity, and Dongyuan Electronics, a manufacturer of loudspeakers, were listed as national green factories. In addition, five other enterprises in the district, including Kinwong, a supplier of printed circuit boards, were named green supply chain management firms.

A green factory is defined as an enterprise that optimizes land use, utilizes harmless raw materials, practices clean production, recycles waste, and uses low-carbon energy.

A green supply chain management firm refers to companies that embrace green and low-carbon development principles throughout their entire operation. These companies also play a pivotal role in encouraging upstream and downstream factories to achieve green manufacturing, according to Bao'an Daily.

Among the 37 Shenzhen-based firms on the list, Bao'an District ranked first in terms of the number of companies included.

In July of this year, Shenzhen introduced detailed regulations to foster the development of green factories. Building on this, Bao'an District departments have been working to advance the reduction of carbon emissions and energy saving in the industrial sector, intensify the cultivation and guidance of green factories, and drive the technological transformation and upgrading of enterprises.

Moreover, Bao'an District is actively formulating supportive policies. For instance, the district offers subsidies of up to 10 million yuan (US$1.37 million) for a single green transformation project. It has also increased financial support for enterprises undergoing green transformation. In 2023 alone, the loan interest discount policy benefited a total of 861 enterprises in the district.

As of now, Bao'an District is home to 39 national-level green factories, 21 city-level green factories, and 8 national-level green supply chain management firms.
