Recently, Italian netizens have been sharing excitement about the appearance of a "Shenzhen Tram" on their streets, presenting a rolling exhibition of Shenzhen's city culture.
The tram's exterior is adorned with posters depicting Shenzhen's urban landscapes, making it a mobile showcase of the city's charm to the residents of Milan and Florence.
From the shimmering Shenzhen Bay Park under the sun to the skyscraping Ping'an Finance Center, the "Eagle-winged" Civic Center, and the Ferris wheel resembling a crystal ball, the tram features some of Shenzhen's most iconic landmarks and attractions.
Locals have been stopping to admire the tram, while Chinese students studying in Italy have been sharing videos on TikTok, expressing pride and nostalgia upon seeing posters of their homeland and the words "China Shenzhen."
Shenzhen, known for its innovative spirit, has long captivated the world with its unique charm. Milan and Florence, two of Italy's most representative cultural and artistic hubs and fashion capitals, also enjoy global fame. The appearance of the "Shenzhen Tram" underscores the deepening cultural tourism exchanges between Shenzhen and the two cities.
Shenzhen and Italy have enjoyed a long-standing connection. Shenzhen and Milan became sister cities in 2018, leading to enhanced cooperation in fashion design, culture, and tourism. Shenzhen has participated in Milan Fashion Week for four consecutive years, and the 2022 Shenzhen Design Week and Global Design Awards were successfully promoted in Milan.
Last year, the inaugural Shenzhen and Milan intercontinental flight was launched, facilitating travel to multiple European, African, and North American cities via Milan, with transit visa exemptions and direct baggage check-in services.
In recent years, Shenzhen and Florence have also collaborated in culture, education, and business. For instance, Shenzhen base was unveiled at the Sino-Italian Design Exchange Center in 2023, which linked Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Florence together, promoting exchanges in artistic design and cultural creativity.
With Shenzhen's city promotion posters displayed on Italian streets, it is expected to attract more European tourists and further boost cultural exchanges between the two regions, opening up broader horizons for international tourism cooperation.
