EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 Awards winners unveiled

Winners for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 awards were officially unveiled on December 12 in Guangzhou, and 10 outstanding entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macaowon the awards.

Under the theme of "Elevating excellence for a new innovative era," this year's awards aim to discover and recognize those entrepreneurial role models who leverage scientific and technological innovation as a driving force to promote industrial transformation and upgrading, seek sustainable development, and pour unwavering efforts towards the development journey to promote new quality productive forces. 

The globally renowned EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program, now operating in 79 countries and regions, maintains uniform global evaluation criteria across four dimensions: Entrepreneurial Spirit, Growth, Purpose, and Impact.

The category winners this year cover important sectors including biotechnology, healthcare and wellness, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, new energy, and modern services, demonstrating China's robust development of new productive forces.

The two grand prize winners of this year's EOY Program will represent the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025, competing alongside top global entrepreneurs.

Jack Chan, EY China Chairman and EY Greater China Regional Managing Partner, says, "As the global economic landscape is undergoing profound restructuring, entrepreneurs are playing a crucial role, not only as the leaders of industrial change, but also, more importantly, as value creators in this new era."

Jack Chan stated that new quality productive forces are becoming a new engine for economic growth. During the critical period of economic transformation, Chinese-style entrepreneurship has been given a new connotation in this changing era. 

Michael Bi, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 Program Co-chairman and Managing Partner of EY Greater China Markets, noted, "The EOY Awards insist on discovering and promoting entrepreneurship in the new era, and this serves not only as a recognition and commendation for individual achievement but also aims to raise the perception and awareness of entrepreneurship among various parties of society from a strategic perspective."

He added that the award winners have demonstrated the innovative spirit with a strong imprint of Chinese traditional culture; they've played a key role in promoting the country's high-quality development and systematic opening up and continue to inject a strong impetus into the prosperity of the economy and society, becoming an important force in promoting national progress and national rejuvenation.

"Over the past 19 years, the EOY program has witnessed the heritage and the development of entrepreneurial spirit," said William Huang, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 Program Co-Chairman and Managing Partner of EY China South.

William Huang believes that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), as an important driver and the frontier of China's economic reform and opening up, provides a unique environment and platform to give full play to entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurial spirit of the GBA not only has an international perspective, but also strong science and technological innovation capabilities as well as adventurous and daring dynamism.

William Huang furthered that they look forward to promoting synergies among enterprises in the GBA and empowering their innovative development through this platform, and injecting further momentum for the national initiative of promoting new quality productive forces by contributing the prowess of the GBA.
