Primary school construction begins in Hengqin Financial Island, offering 1,350 seats

Hengqin Financial Island took a significant step forward in its educational development on November 18, as construction began on its first primary school. Designed as a modern, international public institution, the school is located at the intersection of Rong'ao Road, Du'hui Road, and Huan'yang Road.

The project spans a land area of 18,000 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 31,000 square meters. Facilities include teaching and auxiliary rooms, administrative offices, residential quarters, and specialized spaces such as specialized classrooms equipped with advanced audio-visual technologies for recording and streaming educational content, a STEAM lab (a learning space designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning through the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics principles), a Go game (围棋) room, art and creativity spaces, teacher dormitories, and outdoor amenities.

As the first compulsory education project on Hengqin Financial Island, the school will accommodate 30 classes with a total of 1,350 students upon completion. The main structure is expected to be topped out by September 2025, with the project slated for final acceptance in April 2026.
