Dongguan steps up efforts to attract global digital trade enterprises and talent

The city of Dongguan held its first Brand Export Development Conference, titled "Digital Trade Dongguan, Connecting the World", at Songshan Lake on November 1. This event aimed to further promote the robust development of digital trade in Dongguan and attract global digital trade enterprises and talent.

The conference marked the significant launch of the Dongguan Digital Trade Port, along with several key digital trade service platforms, including the Huawei (Dongguan) Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Service Innovation Center, the Xinhua New Media International E-Commerce and Digital Economy Industrial Base, and service centers for Dongguan brands in Vietnam and the United States. These initiatives are intended to deepen the collaborative development of government, enterprises, research and media in digital trade, seizing new opportunities in global trade for Dongguan and accelerating its transition to high-quality development.

Dongguan is a vital source of global trade, boasting 210,000 industrial enterprises and a comprehensive industrial system that encompasses 34 major categories and over 60,000 products. With its reputation for "technological innovation + advanced manufacturing," Dongguan ranked fifth in the nation and second in Guangdong Province for import and export value in 2023.

In line with its strategy to transform and upgrade manufacturing through "e-commerce + platforms," the conference officially launched the Dongguan Digital Trade Port. This initiative aims to support Dongguan's intelligent manufacturing sector in expanding market reach and selling globally, positioning the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a global hub for digital trade.

The conference also saw the signing of contracts for key platform projects. A total of 14 companies, including Shenzhen Xunhui Technology Co., Ltd., Vietnam Y&Y Import-Export Trade Investment Co., Ltd., and the U.S.-based TLM International, officially signed on to join the Dongguan Digital Trade Port, injecting fresh momentum into the region's digital trade development.
