Guangzhou Metro line 26 plan revealed

On October 27, the first information disclosure for the environmental impact assessment of the Guangzhou Urban Rail Transit Line 26 project (from Magang Avenue to Shunde College) was underway.

Line 26 of the Guangzhou Metro represents another major north-south artery in the city. It runs parallel to Line 3 and mainly along Guangzhou Avenue. The Foshan segment of the line will extend from Magang Avenue to Shunde College, while the Guangzhou section will primarily run along Guangzhou Avenue. This could potentially enable direct access between the city centre of Guangzhou and the CBD of Shunde.

According to previously released information, Guangzhou Metro Line 26 starts from Baiyun District in the north, connecting Zhuhai District and Panyu District, and then enters Shunde Daliang from Nansha District, linking up with the central area of Shunde.

The proposed plan indicates that Line 26 is a rapid transit line, with the Guangzhou section spanning 59.3 kilometres from Taihe in the north to Lanhe in the south and extending into Foshan. However, adjustments to the latest plan cannot be ruled out.
