The 14th China International Animation and Comic Expo concluded after four days of vibrant activities in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, attracting over 30 million visitors both online and offline. The exhibition ran from October 24 to 27.
This year's event showcased more than 500 enterprises from 60 countries and regions, featuring over 1,500 renowned intellectual properties (IPs) and brands. Notably, the number of international companies and IPs participating was the highest recorded in recent years, with domestic buyers representing all 28 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China.
According to the organizers, over 30,000 exhibitors, buyers, and professionals attended, marking a historic high for the exhibition. The total amount for intended collaboration projects reached 1.24 billion yuan, including 27 projects exceeding 10 million yuan. Exhibitors presented over 100,000 products, with online and offline sales totaling 110 million yuan. Among the highlights, JD.com’s dedicated "Chaoji Entertainment Research Institute" generated sales of 21.04 million yuan, while nine exhibitors surpassed one million yuan in on-site sales.
Additionally, the organizing committee unveiled the "Trendy Toy Copyright Loan", a financing option which facilitated bank credit of 55 million yuan for three selected toy companies, while Dongguan's Chashan Town Toy and Infant Products Association received a comprehensive credit line of 1 billion yuan.
This year's exhibition also set several precedents: the release of the inaugural "2024 China Trendy Toy and Animation Industry Development Report," the establishment of a guest country exhibition area for Italy, the first group participation of enterprises from China's Taiwan region, the launch of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Animation Film Week, and the introduction of copyright pledge financing products.
