During the meeting, António Lei, director of Hengqin's Economic Development Bureau, highlighted the improving industrial ecosystem in Hengqin, noting the development of the "Four New" industries and the introduction of various supportive policies. He emphasized the role of Macao as the China-Portuguese platform in facilitating the international expansion of enterprises from the Chinese mainland and attracting foreign businesses to Hengqin.

António Martins da Cruz, president of OVIA, remarked that Oeiras, located just a half-hour drive from Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, serves as an important hub for Sino-Portuguese high-tech cooperation. The visit to Hengqin aimed to deepen collaboration in various industrial sectors, fostering more partnership opportunities through engagement.

Then, representatives from OVIA, Wanda Group, and Gala showcased their industrial resources and international strategies through presentations. The discussions covered topics like cross-border e-commerce, biotechnology, technological development, and talent cultivation.

Later, the delegation toured the exhibition hall of the in-depth cooperation zone and the Hengqin Huafa Cross-Border E-commerce Industrial Park. Participants expressed optimism about the region's comprehensive e-commerce ecosystem and its potential for collaboration, leveraging the advantages of Macao as the China-Portuguese platform.

Earlier in September, Hengqin organized a visit for Macao and Hengqin enterprises to Brazil and Portugal, promoting cross-border e-commerce, traditional Chinese medicine, and the big health industry. As a response, this visit aims to enhance understanding of the business environment in Hengqin and further deepen cooperation between the two regions. Hengqin plans to continue expanding Sino-Portuguese economic ties and attract high-quality resources from around the globe.
