144-hour visa-free transit for international travelers during 136th Canton Fair

The 136th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou, China, from October 15 to November 4. Do you need a visa to visit Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province? You might be eligible for a visa-free stay!

If you meet the following requirements, you can visit Guangdong without a visa and travel in Guangdong for a maximum of 144 hours.

144-hour visa-free transit requirements

- 1. You are a citizen from one of the following 54 countries.

European Schengen Countries (25)

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway.

Other European countries (15)

Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Monaco, Belarus.

American countries (6)

The United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile.

Oceanian countries (2)

Australia, New Zealand.

Asian countries (6)

The Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar.

- 2. You hold a valid international travel document (valid for no less than three months) that can prove your nationality and identity, and meet the conditions for entering a third country/region.

- 3. Your travel documents have no rejection stamp froma visa-issuing agency in China, and you do not have a record of illegal entry or exit, illegal residence, or illegal employment within the last five years.

- 4. You hold a connecting ticket to a third country/region with a confirmed date and seat for departure within 72/144 hours or relevant certificates as per the amount of time applied for the visa-free transit, fill out the Arrival Card for Temporary Entry Foreigners, and accept inquiries from the entry-exit border inspection authority.

- 5. You enter Guangdong through any of the following five ports, and exit via any of Guangdong's 36 ports.

Please note:With a 144-hour visa-free transit, you are permitted to travel within Guangdong Province. To travel outside Guangdong, you may consider an applicable visa.

Apply for 144-hour visa-free transit at Baiyun Airport

After landing at Baiyun Airport, passengers need to hold a passport or other international travel documents valid for no less than three months, a connecting ticket (including air ticket, ship ticket, and train ticket) to a third country (or region), a hotel reservation form, and fill out the "Arrival Card for Temporary Entry Foreigners," submitting it to apply for a 144-hour visa-free transit.
After approval, you will be allowed to have a temporary stay without a Chinese visa for 6 consecutive days after your entry.
