On August 29, the Guangzhou Industry Investment Holding Group's Greater Bay Area Digital Economy and Life Sciences Industrial Park officially began construction. Nearly 30 enterprises have already expressed their intention to settle in the park.

The project, with a total construction area of approximately 3 million square meters, is envisioned as a comprehensive industrial park integrating the digital economy, biomedicine, and the commercialization of innovation achievements from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Located on the southern side of Nanzhu Avenue, the park will be accessible to drivers from Shenzhen Airport in just over 20 minutes once the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge's Nansha route opens.

According to plans, the park will be a multi-functional complex integrating production services, research and development laboratories, business offices, and residential leisure facilities, fostering a modern community where industry, lifestyle, and culture blend seamlessly. Additionally, the park embraces green ecology and cultural landscapes, offering ample recreational spaces.

Liu Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of the CPC Nansha District Committee, emphasized that the commencement of construction is merely the first step. Nansha will vigorously support and ensure the project's progress, providing comprehensive services including policy support, supporting infrastructure, industrial chain connections, and talent attraction and cultivation.

The park project is invested in and operated by Guangzhou Industry Investment Holding Group. Luo Junfu, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangzhou IIG, stated that the park aims to become a high-quality industrial community integrating "high-standard industrial carriers, R&D and experimental public platforms, landscaped apartments, and sports parks."

"In the future, the park will prioritize attracting leading enterprises in fields such as targeted RNA and novel cell therapies, synthetic biology, gene delivery, artificial intelligence, and AI-driven exploration of silicon-based life," said Luo Junfu.

Beyond creating premium industrial spaces, Luo Junfu added that the park will innovate its operational service model by adopting the role of "landlord + shareholder + steward + partner." Leveraging its professional technology and financial service capabilities, the park will provide enterprises with all-element design, full-process companionship, and life-cycle services.

Biomedicine is one of the strategic emerging industries in Nansha's layout for a trillion-yuan-level emerging industrial cluster. It is introduced that the park will leverage the digital economy to facilitate the integration of biomedicine, medical devices, and new materials, forming a complete industrial chain and achieving a closed-loop development model.
