Peng Jun, Co-founder and CEO of Pony.ai, stated, "Autonomous driving has reached the stage of commercialization. The strategic partnership between Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro will contribute significantly to the global expansion and commercialization of the autonomous driving industry."

Cheng Siak Kian, Managing Director and Group CEO of ComfortDelGro remarked, "Pony.ai's successful implementation of autonomous ride-hailing services in China's tier-one cities has solidified its technological prowess. Through this collaboration, we aim to first commercialize autonomous ride-hailing services in China before extending them to other key markets."

To date, Pony.ai has received approvals to launch autonomous ride-hailing services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen in China. Pony.ai has also embarked on autonomous driving technology collaborations in countries such as South Korea, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Since 2018, Nansha has introduced various measures to advance road testing, and multi-scenario applications, and encourage demonstration operations of autonomous vehicles, aiming to promote the construction of a pilot zone for intelligent and connected vehicle road tests.

In April this year, Pony.ai, alongside its partners including GAC Toyota, China Communications Information Technology Group, On Time, Guangzhou Nansha Transport Investment Group, and CVC, secured a spot in the Ministry of Transport's second batch of Intelligent Transport Application Pilot Projects focusing on autonomous driving and smart construction. The joint application is centered on an autonomous driving pilot for urban travel services in Guangzhou's Nansha district.
