Recently, the Xin Xing Comprehensive Clinic was officially established in Guangzhou's Nansha District. At the unveiling ceremony, a service providing Hong Kong drugs for Hong Kong and Macao residents in Nansha was also formally introduced.
The Xin Xing Comprehensive Clinic has obtained approval for internet diagnosis and treatment services, with 9 doctors already registered and 8 more in the registration process. The offline clinic offers emergency services and nine specialized departments, including ophthalmology, general practice, internal medicine, gynecology, psychiatry, traditional Chinese medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and dermatology.

Upon the launch of the online service, Hong Kong and Macao residents in Nansha can receive professional consultations from Hong Kong and Macao doctors via the APP “港医通(pinyin: gang yi tong)”. The service enables them to obtain prescriptions for commonly used medications in Hong Kong and Macao at home. These medications will be delivered to patients' residences within 1-2 days.
According to Dr. Liu Xintong from Hong Kong, the head of the clinic, these commonly used Hong Kong medications cover all prescription drugs registered in Hong Kong (excluding psychiatric and anesthetic drugs).

"We primarily serve Hong Kong and Macao residents, especially elderly individuals who require long-term follow-ups and medications for chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. They have established habits of using Hong Kong medications and previously had to return to Hong Kong to purchase prescription drugs. Now, they can purchase them in Nansha," said an official from the Health Bureau of the Nansha District.
Taking into account the special needs of this group of Hong Kong and Macao residents, the bureau has collaborated with the Nansha Customs, Xin Xing Comprehensive Clinic Internet Hospital, and SF Healthcare to explore customs clearance models for commonly used medications from Hong Kong and Macao.
"Through streamlined customs clearance procedures, medications from Hong Kong and Macao are delivered to patients via SF Express, typically arriving in Nansha within 1-2 days after consultations," the official from the Health Bureau of the Nansha District added. It is learned that this service will be promoted to other mainland cities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) in the future.
Regarding the establishment of the Internet Hospital in Nansha, Dr. Liu believes that in addition to Nansha's geographical advantage as the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, it is also due to Nansha's emphasis on the development of Internet medical care and the biomedical industry. "Nansha can serve as a platform for exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, enhancing communication with the international medical community."
