The new station will be located near the original site of Foshan Railway Station, with a total investment of approximately 10.3 billion RMB for the station and the surrounding infrastructure. Of this amount, around 4.745 billion RMB is allocated for the comprehensive transportation hub that will support the station, along with the integration of Foshan Metro Line 3.

Foshan Station will feature a design that accommodates three platforms and seven lines, with provisions for future expansion. The effective length of the arrival and departure lines will reach 650 meters. The station building itself will cover an area of about 29,800 square meters and is designed to enhance the passenger experience with modern aesthetics and functionality.

According to the recently released design renderings, Foshan Station will stand out as the first high-speed railway station in the heart of Foshan's central urban area. Its exterior will showcase a dynamic and minimalist design, featuring a transparent urban corridor that ensures a bright and comfortable atmosphere for passengers. Inside, the waiting hall will have a sleek, streamlined ceiling that contributes to a spacious feel, with orderly seating areas for passenger convenience.

The Foshan Station of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway is a key project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan. In the future, it will connect eastward through the Beijing-Kowloon Railway to the Yangtze River Delta; southwestward, it will connect to the west of Guangdong, the Beibu Gulf, and Hainan Province through the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang and Shenzhen-Nanning High-Speed Railways; southward, it will connect to Zhuhai and Macao through the Zhuhai-Zhaoqing High-Speed Railway; northward, it will connect to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway.

Planning to open by the end of 2025, it will shorten the direct travel time between the centers of Foshan and Guangzhou to just 15 minutes, which can significantly enhance communication and connections between the centers of Guangzhou and Foshan and the western regions of Guangdong.
