Autonomous bus with a fare of one yuan

Shenzhen Bus Group has announced it will launch 20 self-driving buses in Qianhai. Currently, four self-driving bus routes, including Route B998, have been approved and are expected to officially open at the end of July with a fare of one yuan.

The operational scenarios will cover subway stations, business districts, residential areas, central business districts, industrial parks, cultural and tourism attractions, etc. Once the routes are officially opened, online reservations can be made by clicking "Autonomous Driving" on the homepage of the "Shenzhen Bus Travel (深巴出行)" mini-program.

Previously, Shenzhen already had a driverless bus in operation, namely the first intelligent and connected driverless bus in Pingshan District, known as the "Panda Bus". Equipped with a "palm print recognition system," passengers can take the bus by "scanning their hands." The bus also has cameras and specially designed wheelchair access, vending machines, voice interaction, and other convenient functions.

Currently, the Panda Bus operates on the route from Pingshan High-speed Railway Station to Biomedical Accelerator in Pingshan District, with two daily trips on weekdays. Shenzhen residents can scan the QR code of the "熊猫智行 (pinyin: xiong mao zhi xing)" mini-program at the departure point to make free reservations and take the ride.
