Starting from June 15th, China Railway Guangzhou Group is implementing a new train operation timetable in order to adjust to the operation speed of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed trains and increase the number of high-speed trains to and from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. This move aims to further boost the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

After the adjustment, the trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway can achieve a higher-standard operation at 350 km/h, and the overall transportation capacity will increase by 4.2 percent.

The fastest travel time from Beijing West Railway Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station will be 7 hours 16 minutes, and that from Wuhan Railway Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station will be 3 hours 17 minutes. This will reduce the travel time on these two routes by 22 minutes and 23 minutes, respectively. The fastest travel time between Changsha South Railway Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station will be 1 hour 59 minutes, reducing the travel time by 19 minutes. A total of 99 trains with fewer stops, higher speed, and shorter travel time will be arranged on the entire railway network, resulting in an increase of 36 trains compared with the current schedule. These trains will radiate influence to 20 provincial administrative regions.

After the adjustment, the number of high-speed trains between Guangzhoudong Railway Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station will increase from 20 to 26 per day, which is about double the number compared to last year. Additionally, two more high-speed trains will run between Zhangjiajiexi Railway Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
