Passengers can take both Guangzhou and Shenzhen metro with the QR codes either on “Shenzhen Metro APP” or “Guangzhou Metro APP” since Dec 16.

The function covers all the metro lines and stations run by Guangzhou Metro and Shenzhen Metro, but not Haizhu Island Circular New Tram (广州有轨电车海珠环岛线), Huangpu Tram Line 1 (黄埔有轨电车1号线), Huadu station to Qingcheng station section of Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway(广清城际铁路花都站至清城站段), Huadu station to Baiyun Airport North Station of Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway (广州东环城际铁路花都站至白云机场北站段), Shenzhen Longhua Modern Tram (深圳龙华有轨电车).
Here are some details that passengers need to pay attention to:
1. Passengers should upgrade Guangzhou Metro APP to “5.8.0” version and Shenzhen Metro to “3.2.2” version.
2. Holders of Guangzhou Metro APP should change the city location in the APP to Shenzhen when you ride the metro in Shenzhen. Likewise, Shenzhen Metro APP holders should switch to the page of Guangzhou when taking a metro in Guangzhou.
3. The service now only support WeChat payment.
4. If you encounter any problems when using the service, you can ask metro staff for help or dial service hotline. Guangzhou Metro’s service hotline is 020-96891, Shenzhen’s is 0755-88960600.
