Taking advantage of the Pearl River Delta, a high-quality economic region, exported goods departing from the Nansha Port include household appliances and ceramic tiles from Zhongshan and Foshan to cities in western India. Nansha Port also offers one of the best options with relatively short distance and time as well as low logistics cost.

It is reported that most new routes in Guangzhou Port are headed for Southeast Asia and more European and American ocean routes, including THE Alliance, direct shipping routes to the west coast of the United States of Sea Leads Shipping and of CULines, and the route to Canada of T. S. Lines, have chosen to berth in Nansha Port this year.

With 20 additional marine lines for foreign trade, Guangzhou Port now has 140 lines in total, covering destinations in Southeast Asia, India, Pakistan, East Africa, Europe, America and linking over 400 ports in more than 100 countries and regions. As a section of Guangzhou Port, Nansha Port has opened 134 trade lanes, taking up a huge majority within the Guangzhou Port.
