The Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau has revised the Regulations on the Management of Doctoral and Post-doctoral Researchers in Zhongshan.
The Regulations were revised in several aspects, including improving the scope of management and service, complying with the relevant national and provincial regulations regarding scientific research and innovation platforms, and improving the management and service of, and strengthening the support policies for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
Among the adjustments, the living allowance for postdoctoral researchers working in a research station will be raised to 150,000 yuan per year for up to 2 years.
A supplementary clause was also added to the Regulations stating that "Private enterprises that set up stations, bases and doctoral research stations shall receive a subsidy of 10% higher than the current quota for workstation construction according to relevant municipal policies".
In addition, preferential policies were added for the introduction of doctoral graduates from overseas universities to work as postdoctoral researchers and work in Zhongshan after leaving their local doctoral research stations. Eligible doctoral and postdoctoral researchers who stay in Zhongshan after completing a stint at a local research station will be given an additional living allowance of 100,000 yuan.
