On September 24, Guangzhou issued a notice regarding the latest quarantine measures for inbound international arrivals, against the context that the 130th China Import and Export Fair (the Canton Fair) will be held in Guangzhou in October.
Strengthened entry measures for inbound international arrivals
Until October 20, the quarantine policy for all inbound international arrivals whose destination is Guangzhou has been adjusted from "14-day centralized quarantine + 7 days home quarantine" to "21-day centralized quarantine". International arrivals need to test nucleic acid on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 14th, 17th, 19th, and 21st day.
Starting from October 21, Guangzhou will resume the previous quarantine policy.
Those who have already undergone centralized quarantine in Guangzhou for over 14 days and less than 21 days, or in other cities for 14 days and less than 7 days when coming back to Guangzhou, if able to take home quarantine, can undergo isolation at home until the 21st day after entering Guangzhou.
Tightened health management measures for domestic travellers to Guangzhou
For those with a travel history to medium- and high-risk areas, a "centralized quarantine for 14 days" policy is implemented. They should take nucleic acid tests on the 1st, 2nd, 10th, and 14th day ("double check" on the last day).
Those from a city with medium or high-risk areas should undergo 14-day home health monitoring and nucleic acid tests on the 1st, 2nd, 10th, and 14th day ("double check" on the last day).
Yellow codes will occur for those with a history to cities where there are local positive cases. They should take "2 tests within the first three days upon arrival + 14-day home health monitoring", with tests on the 7th and 14th day, respectively.
Those from any province with an outbreak must receive "four ones" health management and 14-day self-health monitoring.
The instantaneous flow of people in the Canton Fair Complex limited
The instantaneous flow of people in the Canton Fair Complex shall not exceed 50% of its maximum capacity. All participants shall provide their negative nucleic acid testing result within 48 hours of entering the venue each time.
