To promote the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department launched 20 new measures on January 28. These measures will help promote the social development of the Greater Bay Area, and will also promote the informatization and facilitation of public security service management. The following measures among them will also make the lives of foreigners in Guangdong more convenient and safer.

In order to locate crime sites faster,Guangdong police developed a more accurate positioning function. When residents dial 110 in Guangdong, they can video-connect with the police without speaking and upload their precise location information simultaneously. In addition, Guangdong will implement a 110-receiving app to receive alarm information such as videos, pictures, text, and coordinate locations.

Moreover, foreigners can apply for work permits and work-related residence permits at one time. Foreigners in Guangzhou and Shenzhen can submit all the materials for applying for the work permit and work residence permit at one time, and then they can complete the acceptance and receive the certificates at the same time. This means that the time for applicants to wait for approval will be reduced.

In order to speed up the exchanges among residents of the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, vehicles entering and leaving the Mainland (except vans) with 9 seats or less with Hong Kong and Macao license plates will now be exempted from inspection, this service commenced from December 20, 2020 .
